National Memorial Arboretum unveils plaque to honour former Cadets who gave the ultimate sacrifice
Friday 24th September 2010 saw a moving day in the life of the Army Cadet Force, when almost 70 cadets, families of former cadets and senior Army Cadet Force personnel gathered at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to dedicate a memorial to former members of the ACF who went on to join the Armed Forces and subsequently lost their lives on Operations. Lesotho Expedition Returns
60 specially-selected teenage cadets from all over the UK including cadet Staff Sgt Emily Brough from Stoke On Trent went on a unique expedition to Lesotho in southern Africa in July-August 2010. As well as undertaking arduous treks through the Drakensburg Mountains, the cadets also volunteered with Prince Harry's charity, Sentebale, working with orphans and vulnerable children. cadet150 Lichfield Parade a big hit
Saturday 15 May saw the Cadet Forces of Staffordshire and West Midlands celebrating the cadet force movement with over 700 cadets parading through Lichfield following a short Cathedral Service. The parade involved elements of the Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and the Air Training Corps. The parade included a march past at the Guildhall where Staffordshire Deputy Lieutenant (DL) - Major General Andrew Farquhar CBE took the salute. Read more »
