New Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Staffordshire.
Cadet Staff Sergeant James Baker was recently invested as the new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Staffordshire.

Cadet Staff Sergeant James Baker joined the Army Cadet Force in 2005.
He is currently studying for a BTEC National Diploma in Engineering at Newcastle College and on completion he intends to join the Army as an Officer in either the Royal Engineers or the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers or the Police Force.
Since joining Cross Heath Detachment Staff Sergeant Baker has progressed through the Army Proficiency Certificates to Three Star level and is keen to go on to pass his 4 Star and become a Master Cadet .Last year at Annual Camp he was awarded the Best male overall cadet on the Advanced Infantry Cadre which was run by the Regular Army.

Cdt SSgt Baker is a dedicated self disciplined and prolific worker within the Army Cadet Force and never hesitates to pass on his knowledge and expertise in an enthusiastic and cheerful manner. At his Detachment he takes pride in producing recruit training programmes teaching junior cadets and acting as directing staff during Company Camps.
He has attended three Annual Camps and represented the County at Regional level in Military Skills and March and Shoot Competitions, Brigade, County and Company Shooting Competitions, Cross Country Events and First Aid. A committed member of the Army Cadet Force but still finds time to do numerous activities such as Tai Boxing, mountain biking, quad biking, playing the Drums and going to the Gym. He is overall, a good all round young man.
