New Commandant for the County.
Staffordshire & West Midlands (North Sector) Army Cadet Force would like to announce and welcome their new County Commandant Col KJ Knutton to his new post and wish him our best for the future.
Newly appointed Commandant Col Knutton will be responsible for the management of the County as a whole along with the daily management of discipline, welfare and operational issues affecting the County. His new position will also involve close liaison with members of the wider military and civilian communities, including the Regular & Territorial Army; Ministry of Defence and a spectrum of local community associations and representatives.

Col Knutton from Tamworth has served with the Army Cadet Force for 37 years 5 of these as a cadet. In his long outstanding service Col Knutton has been a Detachment Commander of Rugeley, Abbots Beyne and Tamworth, before moving in to a Company position where he has held various appointments including DofE Officer, Training Officer, Adjutant, Company Commander and Deputy Commandant before taking his new appointment of Commandant on 06 January.
Col Knutton said “I am very proud to have the opportunity to Command the County where I started my career as a young cadet over 37 years ago”. Thanking all for the welcome and support received he added “I look forward to the challenges that this will bring in the future. To all of you I would say that you will get out of this organisation success and pleasure equal to the effort that you as individuals put in to it. In my new role I aim to use our vast wealth of experience to develop the leadership qualities of the Cadets by giving exciting, meaningful and progressive training in a safe and cost effective manner so as to progress them through the APC and BTEC syllabuses.I also want to increase involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and project the core values of the Army Cadet Force to the wider youth community in our County."
